What is Islam?

Who is Allah?

The word “Allah” simply means God in Arabic. Allah is the same God that is worshipped in all religions.

Who is the Prophet Muhammad ( ﷺ )?

The Prophet Muhamad (ﷺ ) was the final messenger sent from Allah. He was a simple man who spread the message of Allah in a peaceful and respectful manner.

What are some basic beliefs of Islam?

Islam is based on pillars that support its beliefs.

Six Pillars of Iman (Faith):

  • Belief in one God (Allah)
  • Belief in the Angels
  • Belief in the holy books (Including the Quran, Gospel, and Torah)
  • Belief in all Prophets that were sent by Allah
  • Belief in the day of resurrection (Judgement Day)
  • Belief in the predestination by Allah of all things (Whether Good or Bad)

Five Pillars of Islam:

  • Shahadah (Declaration of Faith)
  • Salah (Praying five times a day)
  • Zakah (Donating 2.5% of one’s wealth to the needy)
  • Fasting (Fasting during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan)
  • Hajj (Pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca)
